Is It a Dupe? BeautyBlender V's Real Techniques Blending Sponge

I've used both of these sponges on and off over the years. While they both do an amazing job at blending your make up they are in no way a dupe for each other!

The shape of the sponges are completely different, the beautyblender is shaped like an egg with a pointy tip, while the Real Techniques sponge although also shaped slightly like an egg it also has a flat side at the bottom.

The texture of each sponge is different and is in no way comparable but as I said they do blend amazingly. The price is something that stands out. The Beautyblender costs €22 while the Real Techniques sponge is only €7.99! That's a big price difference for two beauty sponges that effectively do the exact same job and leave the same appearance on the skin! Not only that but you can often find the Real Techniques sponge of offer in boots or superdrug.

In my opinion they are not dupes but they both do blend out your make-up similarly. I know which one I'll be spending my money on in the future!

  1. This was really interesting to read. I don't normally use beauty blenders, but after this I think I'd like to give them a go. I will get the real technique beauty blender. It's amazing to read reviews as it can help massively when deciding what to get especially if there are pros and cons. Really happy I came across your blog :) X

  2. I'm all for the real techniques beauty blender over the real beauty blender. I find the flat surface edge does me wonders when it comes to blending in my concealer, its amazing! but they're a nightmare to wash! x
